Ishi no Kura

Ishi no Kura
Tochigi 2001

Design based on the motif of TATEWAKU, which is a traditional Japanese pattern meaning auspicious omen. The design signifies the pure energy (auspicious omen) of the universe slowly ascending. Formed into a simple column shape, it is dynamically placed in a storehouse built of stone. The washi is 5.5m×1.4m in size, has acrylic sheet embedded, and is suspended in the shape of a cylinder.
