SOGO Main Store in Shinsaibashi (2005) Osaka, Japan

The artwork is installed in the atrium at B1, 1F and 14F creating an architectural vertical line.
The entire artwork expresses the cycle of life and never ending continuation of life and symbolizes the eternity and regeneration of all life.
Based on the idea of "art nouveau", the artwork is created in a dynamic way by combining the 1,200 year old traditional paper making and the latest paper making method with various modern processing techniques.

 

The main artwork at 1〜2F International Arcade
The total length of 28m.
A combination of two images, "a butterfly with open wings" and " a live chrysalis". The ring in the center symbolizes "Eternal Time".
The artwork is created to change the dynamics of the shape depending on the eye level of viewers. Looking up from the first floor, going up in the escalator, looking right in front on the second floor and passing underneath, it will be all different experiences.

The artwork at 12〜14F Atrium

Using a special technique, metal frames are mixed into raw materials in the paper making process. The artwork is created with a motif of "Soaring Butterfly" with the background of flowers and greens on the rooftop garden.
The silhouette which can be seen straight up from the twelfth floor, symbolizes "Newborn Life."

Installation of "Eggs (life source) ", creating the warm atmosphere.
