HORIKI ERIKO

The paneled ceiling on the top floor of the Kyoto Station Building. The work is located at a spot where people naturally look up while standing on the escalator. The panels are angled like a folding screen to add a dynamic element to the static washi material. The washi was fire-proofed by laminating with glass. An LED internal lighting system allows changes to the color temperature to reflect the feeling of different seasons and events.
