HORIKI ERIKO

Spatial designs were created for the bar of a small luxury hotel. The ceiling is decorated with champagne gold foil, and a central light column entitled “Angel’s Ladder” gives the impression of a sunbeam shining through clouds. The sun rising in between the waves and the moon reflecting on the ocean were chosen as motifs to create an atmosphere of warmth and love suggesting the interior of the womb. When the darkness of night settles over the seascape, the reflection of the washi light wall appears on the facing glass window, creating a mysterious virtual image space.
