Omron Kyoto Center Bld. (2000)

Kyoto, Japan

This design incorporates the "Tatewaku water" motif, which is a traditional Japanese pattern meaning "auspicious omen". Glass was processed to match the paper, thereby improving the durability and safety while also making it possible to use a Japanese material without creating an overwhelmingly Japanese feeling.

<Washi Light Wall>Size660*H6200mm(4 Panels)

The surface of the glass is etched in a wave pattern, which, together with the paper sandwiched between the glass panes, emphasizes the depth. This work was an attempt to fuse modern and traditional materials.
